Japan The Japanese Maritime Self-Defence Force Training Squadron 1991 started a visit to Malta on 23.09.91, as part of a training cruise that visited 14 countries. The squadron was composed of the cadet ship JDS Katori (TV3501) and the destroyers JDS Hatsu-Yuki (DD122) and JDS Yamayuki (DD129), which both carried a single Mitsibushi-built Sea King helicopter (or HSS-2B as it is known in JMSDF service).
